Gradye was born in Shelbyville, Tennessee. He came to Knoxville to the university, met Kathy and their journey began. After seminary near Boston, He served the Presbyterian Church in Newport and then Windsor Avenue Church in Bristol. He later served in the national leadership of the Presbyterian Church in Louisville, Kentucky. After retirement he and Kathy came back to East Tennessee and live on a small farm in Kodak. They have two children, Josh, an attorney in Kingsport and Rachel, a Presbyterian minister serving as an Associate Pastor at New Providence Presbyterian Church in Maryville. Plus they have three wonderful grandchildren.
Gradye began working at Westminster in 2019 as a parish associate. His main focus is adult education, pastoral care, worship leadership and other duties as assigned. Gradye likes Westminster because its values and ministries are clearly focused on serving God by serving others. There are sermons that create new thoughts on ancient scriptures, music that inspires, hands on social justice and open discussions on all matters of faith. He finds the community to be an authentic caring collection of people with diverse views on God and the world. He is thankful for the privilege of serving this dynamic growing congregation
